Forged knives are highly regarded for their balance and weight. They are a heavier knife, but they offer the very best in quality. The handles and blades are all forged from a single Stainless Steel billet, creating a knife that will last through extended use. Some suppliers build forged knives by forging the handle and blade separately, and later welding them together prior to polishing. This allows the handle to be manufactured from a lower grade steel than the blade. This saves on the cost of the knife, but it creates a weaker knife that can break on the weld. M&G French forged knives are uncompromising in quality and built to exacting standards.
